Board games, books, puzzles, LEGO, art supplies and other shared activities are always within reach, alongside events, workshops, live music and more. Come for the hobby. Stay for the people.

WHY I’M BUILDING THIS.
My name is Darren Mitchell, and I live in Sleepy Hollow with my family. Through my involvement in our schools, local organizations, and community, I’ve come to realize that even in a vibrant village, it can be surprisingly hard for adults to build lasting social connections.
That’s why I’m creating The Hollow Deck.
It’s not just a place for one hobby, it’s a place to belong. The hobbies give us something to gather around. What matters is what happens around them. The real goal is to create a welcoming third place where people can reconnect with old hobbies, discover new ones, meet neighbors, and become regulars in a space that feels like home.
My hope is simple: to build a place where people can come as they are, spend time together through play, and leave feeling a little more connected than when they arrived.
